L-arginine is an essential amino acid and one of the eight essential ones, especially during the growing years.
L-arginine affects the body has always benefited our body in many positive ways. And for a long time, nobody could explain arginine diversity, but in 1988 it was discovered that this amino acid is a precursor to nitric oxide (NO).
There are many positive effects and one of them is that L- Arginine increases nitric oxide production! Nitric oxide is a gas molecule that acts as chemical messenger in several functions in the body.

The dosage of L-arginine:
A typical therapeutic dose is 2-6g. The intake should be divided so that the largest dose (e.g. 2-4g) taken at bedtime, which favors the production of growth hormone during the night.
The intake should NOT exceed 20 grams per day and when taken over 10g, the dosage should be continued with the addition of L-lysine.
L-arginine is best absorbed on an empty stomach. If your stomach gets upset by this, you can try to eat some carbohydrates. The protein should be avoided, together with L-Arginine, since absorption can be worse then.
Contraindications of L-arginine:
Supplements of L-arginine should not be used in schizophrenia, pregnancy, and lactation. Patients with Herpes Simplex Type I and II should preferably avoid supplements of L-arginine and instead take supplements of L-lysine.
It is believed that L-arginine and L-ornithine promote natural growth hormone (GH) release from the pituitary gland, which helps maintain healthy protein synthesis within cells. As the result, breast tissue growth can be achieved more easily.
